The Rotary Club of Kampala East has elected Rotarian Kaziro Kyambadde as its first District Governor Nominee Designate (DGND) for Rotary District 9213. He is expected to take office as District Governor in 2028.
The club marked the news at a homecoming reception on Thursday, 25 June 2026, at Hotel Africana in Kampala, where it holds its weekly fellowship meetings. Representatives from 47 Rotary clubs across Uganda attended, and the event closed with a ceremonial cake-cutting.
Club President Rotarian Rodney Twagarukaho said the club had worked toward producing a District Governor for years. Kyambadde moved through the ranks from Interactor to Rotaractor to Rotarian before reaching DGND.
District Governor Geoffrey Kitakule praised Kyambadde’s commitment and pledged support through his term, and encouraged more Rotarians to pursue leadership roles.
Past District Governor Mike Sebalu called the achievement well deserved and offered both technical and practical support as Kyambadde prepares for the role.
